The holiday season, no matter how you observe it, invites us to make life special. Not complicated. Not perfect. Special.
What I’m learning is the best celebrations aren’t about doing everything. They’re about doing what matters.
This is your permission slip to strip things down to their essence.
To ask yourself:
What actually creates meaning for me?
What traditions feel like obligation rather than joy?
What have I always wanted to try but felt hemmed in by “the way it’s always been done”?
Maybe you skip the ornaments this year and hang dried citrus instead.
Maybe you say no to the party that drains you.
Maybe you finally host the intimate dinner you’ve been imagining.
The magic isn’t in doing it all. It’s in choosing what matters and letting the rest go.
Pay attention to what feels lighter this year. Some of those changes might become your new traditions. Not because you had to pivot, but because you discovered something better.
Quick question though . . .

INTERIORS TIPS
HEAR
Play your favorite holiday playlists throughout the day while you work. Tired of your old standbys? Look into another genre – choral, classical, or country perhaps? Check out my AYIS playlists – AYIS : choral christmas, AYIS : december
SMELL
Burn a gorgeous candle that sends you to an exotic locale. Any of the candles by Astier de Villatte do that to me every time. The descriptions of the perfume notes alone will transport you.
TOUCH
Finish your wrappings with luxurious velvet and silk ribbons.
SEE
Placing votives around your house is the easiest way to set a sparkling + festive mood.
TASTE
Small bowls of sweets scattered throughout the house are always a good idea.
