HOW YOU PRESENT

YOURSELF SAYS

EVERYTHING

ABOUT…

 WHO YOU ARE
HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF
WHERE YOU ARE IN LIFE
WHAT MESSAGE YOU WANT TO EXPRESS

It’s the language of style.

Hello! I’m Hardie Cobbs.

I am a style coach, artist and designer. I am passionate about helping women be their BEST selves at every stage of life through the language of style. I honestly believe true style comes from the combination of having both inner and outer confidence, which happens when you have a true appreciation of who you are + what you want out of life.

I am on a MISSION to broaden the conversation around aging by celebrating style at every stage of life. Being stylish isn’t just for the younger generations – that’s a MISCONCEPTION. Having style is something that evolves over time and gets better with age.

I would like to see a PARADIGM SHIFT in our beliefs around aging. I see so many women fearing looking older and going to some extreme measures to fight it. Holding on to younger versions of ourselves, in my opinion is wasted energy and more poignantly, a missed opportunity to express our AUTHENTIC SELVES. I see getting older as a wonderful opportunity to get to know our evolving selves with each decade. With this way of thinking, we are continually growing and getting to the essence of who we are.

It is around MIDLIFE that women (and men) tend to struggle with the overwhelming signs of aging. Unfortunately, we become so busy – in our careers, raising our families, taking care of elderly parents, and managing through life events that we take our EYE OFF THE BALL when it comes to our personal style. We then wake up one day and do not recognize ourselves in the mirror. What in the world? Where to start???

You look around and see some women going down the extreme anti-aging route and know that isn’t for you. Or you see other women who have just given up and you know that isn‘t you either.

My approach with my clients is to AGE GRACEFULLY with intention and style. I believe by making time for yourself each day, staying connected with yourself, knowing what you are trying to express, knowing how to dress your body shape + lines, and knowing what colors work in harmony with your coloring that we can age gracefully and with intention. Who doesn’t want that?!

My goal with AYIS is to support you through this journey and encourage you to focus on ways to ELEVATE yourself and your life; to be intentional throughout the year, month by month –
A Year In Style.

As always, I am here. Let me know how I can help.

(my personal story is below if you are interested in WHY I do what I do)

MY WHY

When I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, I had a real come-to-Jesus moment. I realized deep down that if my life was over with that diagnosis then I had not done what it was that I was meant to do. I fell short and that feeling was utterly heartbreaking.

Don’t get me wrong, I was so happy with my life – my relationships, my experiences but I viscerally knew that there was something else I should have done. Yes, my art was well received and I enjoyed doing it for many years but I knew that wasn’t the only thing I was supposed to do in my lifetime.

Lucky me, I got a second chance.

So, I dug deep and knew that I wanted to be of service. And, I knew I wanted to somehow combine that with my passions, my experiences and skills.

I have always been interested in style in both my education and careers. I became interested in fashion at a very early age, much to my parents’ chagrin. I designed my own clothes and was really up on the current trends. My children joke about the ONE award I’ve gotten which was in high school, “Best Dressed.” (she says with complete humor) However, despite that incredible endorsement, I chose to study interior design in college and worked in that field for several years before becoming a graphic designer and artist.

With regard to being able to be of service to others, I was struggling with the signs of aging rapidly appearing after treatment and surgeries. I was 52 and had aged so much. I was put right into menopause and everything was changing. I had never really thought much about the effects of aging but this was unsettling. I looked around at how other women were aging and didn’t see many examples of how I wanted to age; to be intentional and graceful; to be in partnership with it; be accepting and not against it. I mean, I got a second chance, right? I’m here and that is reason alone to accept the aging process.

I realized there had to be other women who felt the way I did and that is when I decided to become a Style Coach. I went to London and studied with The Style Coaching Institute and haven’t looked back since. I love what I do!!! I help women who are feeling vulnerable and a bit overwhelmed about aging feel confident and appreciate who they are. And what I have learned is that it is like a ripple effect. Once we feel good in one area we tend to focus on all areas and that is when profound changes occur.

I think of myself as the cheerleader or support person who helps women feel and look their best so they can go out there and kick some arse! Lord knows we need them!
